A remake of my old tote bag design. This time around I wanted to actually mix an alien with a cat because, lets face it, cats mostly come out at night…mostly. All made in Adobe Illustrator CS6 with the blob brush tool. This was my first go at outlining in Illustrator, which I’ve always been a bit wary of but I think it came out rather well. I’ve submitted this design to Threadless so it should be up for voting in the next few days.

Make Do And Mend - Recycling old t-shirts
Whilst this isn’t a post about my own art, it is creative in itself. With a little assistance from Mumfold, I have been turning old t-shirts that no longer fit me into cushion covers. This was one of my favourite t-shirts by one of my favourite artists, Brian Ewing (www.brianewing.com). As the years have been unkind in the weight department (I should have bought a medium instead of a small), I couldn’t find the heart to throw / give the t-shirt away. So what I have now is a piece of work by a great artist that can now live on my bed / sofa. And yes that is Totoro in the background.
